Hogmanay in Edinburgh

Hogmanay in Edinburgh is not just a case of bringing in the New Year and seeing out the Old.  It’s an experience that will never be forgotten - depending how much you drink.

Edinburgh’s Organised Street Party is an event that is now beamed world-wide.  The atmosphere is electric as people enjoy the entertainment and the fireworks display to bring in the New Year.

Days and days of entertainment, but like any other city in the world, always take care wherever you are.

Never a bus when you want one

The success that has followed since the setting up of the organised Hogmanay Street Party on Princes Street has been astounding.

Since its start in the New Year of 1993/1994, it has grown to a world event.  The success of this event has been tried in other large cities, but to no avail.

Because this event grew so large in such a short time, it has become a ticket only event.  New ideas do crop up from time to time to limit the crowds which is needed when there are as many as 180,000 people in one location and where public safety paramount.
