Last year the Odeon Cinema which had been on Clark Street closed its doors and moved to a new location in Edinburgh. The end of an era had come as it moved in to a new multiplex building that has been modernised for the future of film going.
The Edinburgh International Film Festival is an event that people come from all over the world for.
Some of the biggest films have been premiered in Edinburgh, but it’s not just about the biggest films. It’s about all types of films being screened in one location.
Film producers, directors, actors and the many people who are involved in the producing and production of film come this city for this major event.

The experience of going to a cinema has changed over the years. The types of films are different, and the sound systems have improved beyond all recognition.
There is nothing better than pulling yourself away from the television and going to the cinema to see a film the way it should be seen on a full size screen.
