Murphy’s Edinburgh Site Policies

Murphy’s Edinburgh was set up in June 2004 by Andrew Murphy of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh to display and promote Edinburgh through photographs, video and information.

1   No material will be displayed on Murphy’s Edinburgh that may cause offence to anyone using Murphy’s Edinburgh.

2   All letters written by Andrew Murphy are opinions which are not there to offend, they are written as a personal opinion as to the way world issues are seen by the writer.  The main reason that they are written is to get people thinking, and if it achieves that, then the purpose for them being there is justified.

3   No links to any other site will be added to Murphy's Edinburgh site without being explored first for ease of use and material content.

4   All decisions of links from Murphy’s Edinburgh to any other sites will be checked out and considered fully before being added to Murphy’s Edinburgh, I will make any decision if any links are added to this site and all decisions reached will be final after due consideration.

5   Murphy’s Edinburgh is an independent site that is not tied up with any other sites or businesses, although I rely on many organization to obtain all the photographs, video, and information that are displayed on Murphy's Edinburgh.

6   It is my policy to cover the events that I cover fairly and to supply a link to their website so that updated information that I may have missed can be obtained from these other sites.

7   If you have any information of any large events that are not covered by Murphy’s Edinburgh and you feel that it is the type of material that you and this site can benefit from, feel free to contact Andrew Murphy by e-mail for full and proper consideration.

8   I believe that it is the people who are logging on to Murphy's Edinburgh to view the video, photographs and information who make this site work, along with the fantastic work of the companies running the search engines that make all sites work, and for that I am eternally grateful for all the support that Murphy’s Edinburgh has received.

9   This site will evolve through time, the direction is still unknown because it is a journey of trial and error, but the basis of this site with the material on it will not change.

10   No e-mails will be accepted with an attachment unless prior arrangements have been made or the source is known.  All e-mails sent and received will be in confidence and will only be intended for the persons they are addressed to.  All spam will be delated without being opened or looked at.  All material contained on Murphy's Edinburgh is the copyright material of Andrew Murphy of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh.  All copying from www.murphysedinburgh.com and www.murphysedinburgh.co.uk in part or whole is strictly forbidden.

11   If you are from Edinburgh area and have a business idea that could see Murphy's Edinburgh move forward in new direction, please send an e-mail outlining your experience in business or computing and the directions that it could possibly move in the future.

12  I do not have trackers or spyware on my site, and I have no intentions of putting any on Murphy's Edinburgh in the future.  I want people to enjoy looking at this site without the fear of my site gathering information on those using the Internet.

13  Murphy's Edinburgh does not send spam or canvas anyone by e-mail and other means.  What you see is what you get, and I hope that is because of word of mouth or by using the search engines.

14   I would be much obliged.  If any link takes you to a blank page, please send me and e-mail explaining where it is so that I can sort the link.

15   Independent Filming [Edinburgh] was registered as a business name in 1992.  This was change to Murphy's Edinburgh, Independent Filming [Edinburgh]® in 2006 to cover Murphy's Edinburgh website's.  Murphy's Edinburgh, Independent Filming [Edinburgh]® is a registered business name to cover the copyright of all material on these sites and is registered to Andrew Murphy.

16   I make it my promise to keep the same high standards that I have achieved since I set up Murphy’s Edinburgh in June 2004.

17   Press passes and accreditation is applied for by Murphy's Edinburgh and used for access to the Edinburgh International Film Festival, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Edinburgh International Book Festival, Political events, Edinburgh's Christmas and Hogmanay celebrations, the National Museum of Scotland, the Edinburgh Mela, Charity events along with many other events,while some events are by invite only.

18   All written works on Murphy's Edinburgh, Independent Filming [Edinburgh]® is the work of Andrew Murphy.  It has not been copied from text books, Newspapers, magazines, television, other websites or other sources.  I would like to keep it this way.
